Little Things Thursday

1. Cat Rabbit and Ghost Patrol have collaborated! This super rad exhibition is on at Craft (formerly Craft Victoria) and looks swell. I love collaborations. Collaborating is what art/creativity is all about!

2. I would like more seashells in my life.

3. Such incredible work from Erstwilder. What I wouldn't give for this chevron rhino!

4. There are so few things in the world that are better than foamy hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.

5. I'm loving Julia Stone's cover of the National's Bloodbuzz Ohio

What little things have brightened your week?

Little Things Thursday (But on a Friday, do please forgive me)

Some little things that have been good this week...

1. Movies! This week I saw Griff the Invisible and I Am Eleven, two Australian movies. A lot of Australian cinema cops a bit of flack for being, well...rather mediocre, but there are certainly some gems out there amongst it all. Griff the Invisible was offbeat, visually engaging and generally pretty great. I completely feel like I live in my own bubble sometimes too!
Genevieve Bailey, the lovely lady behind I Am Eleven came to talk to my 'freelancing in the arts' class about her adventures making this movie last year, so I was keen to see how it turned out and she's really   captured some pretty wonderful moments. Definitely work a little look-see I think :) *Sigh* I miss being 11.

2. I definitely wouldn't mind a pair of these hand printed Strathcona Stockings to pretty things up for the impending spring!

3. I 100% NEED this Van Gogh Starry Night fabric from Spoonflower in my life. In the immediate future. Seriously, I'm holding my breath until I can get my greedy little hands on it.

4. Lizzy Stewart's Solo is always so comforting. It's so great to know that I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS LIKE THIS! (...so great that is really did need a lot of capitals).

5. Mumford and Sons brought out a new song this week. It's pretty classic Mumford, with lots of knee-slapping banjo. Folk-tacular!

Have you enjoyed some of these little things this week? Or different little things? Please do share, one can never have enough little things!

Little Things Thursday

1. This shrimp made from a straw from saraccino. It's so tiny and delicate and amazing!

2. These beautiful granny squares from A Granny A Day. My boring old grannies pale in comparison!

3. Dawn Tan's new ice-cream pillow case set. What I wouldn't give to rest my head on these!

4. Catherine Campbell's beautiful embroidery. It's so illustrative, it really makes me want to take up embroidery again!

5. Dance Music by the Mountain Goats. The Mountain Goats are endless fun.

Little Things Thursday

My good goodness I've been crazy busy lately. Thus, I am compiling some nice little things, very late at night, in the hope that it will make me feel better about having so little time to blog/sleep...

1. Lizzie Stewart's Solo 3 arrived in my letter box the other day. Perfectly wonderful on so many levels.

2. I'm a massive nerd! Yay! I also love Misfits. As a consequence, I spent a good deal of time nerding out over these great alternative Misfits posters. Do check them out if you're a massive Misfits nerd like me!

3. I'm also a massive Pixar nerd. Check out this new Brave featurette! Pixar, Mumford and Sons and Emma Thompson all in one place? I think so!

4. I'd love to try out this Lune Vintage tutorial for doily dreamcatchers. Super easy yet so effective! I used to be so in love with dreamcatchers when I was in primary school. Anyone else share the obsession?

5. And last but not least, here's a beautiful tune, called Bloom, by the beautiful Paper Kites, accompanied by a beautiful video.

Little Things Thursday

A few little things that have brightened my week. Hopefully they'll brighten yours!

1. Child's Own Studio - Dead god I wish this had been around when I was a kid. They make custom made toys based on children's drawings. Is that not just the greatest idea you've ever heard?!

2. Aled Lewis' Toy Stories are simply genius, and were also the inspiration for the latest Sparkapolooza brief. Seriously, I spent ages scrolling through these and now have the urge to go and buy a whole lot of plastic figurines...

3. I would very much like this Lazy Oaf Dog Shirt...also lots of dogs.

4. Who doesn't love old book smell? Via Girly Me

5. One of the best things about this week, Regina Spektor's new album is streaming over on the frankie website! Until tomorrow! Hurry over there, quick!

6. And last, but certainly not least, I heard this song this morning and it was a brilliant way to start my day - That's What's Up - Edward Sharp and the Magnectic Zeroes.

Little Things Thursday

1. New music from old bands -  Guys, Ben Folds Five are doing a new album! That's not necessarily news specific to this week, but it sure is a little thing to get excited about.

2. Learning things - I'm doing a short course this week, which I shall post about in more detail later, but hey, who doesn't love adding more things into their basket of 'Mad Skillz'?

3. Old friends - I got to catch up with this bunch of ridiculous and lovely ladies this week. Believe it or not, we've all been friends since primary school and we still have just as much fun together now as we did back then. In fact, I think we're becoming increasingly silly the older we get, as evidenced by this photo. It was extra special that we got to catch up, as Isabelle now lives in Queensland and was only in Melbourne for a fleeting visit. Do you have any friends you've known forever who still bring out the kid in you?

4. Funnies - This gave me a good laugh by combining to of my favourite things from recent times, hipster based humour and the Hunger Games.

5. Josh Pyke - Only pretty much my favourite musician. I'm going to see him perform tomorrow night, so in the mean time, here's an extra special performance of 'Love Lies' from his new album. *Sigh*

What little things have brought a smile to your face this week?
