Bilby

Bilbies are one of those bizarre, but underrated animals. Like a strange, elusive, mouse-rabbit, I think they make great subjects for needle felting.

Swan - the New Owl

Owls have been big for a while now. Owl tea towels, owl patterned fabric, owl mugs, owl cushions, owls on everything!
Don't get me wrong, owls are great, particularly when delivering your post, but some of my crafty buddies and I suspect that the reign of the owl might be coming to an end, and that the swan is going to be the next big thing - so, I needle felted a swan in anticipation.

Spread it around and we'll see if we can't make swans the new owl.

Only time will tell!

Little Things Thursday

A few little things that have brightened my week. Hopefully they'll brighten yours!

1. Child's Own Studio - Dead god I wish this had been around when I was a kid. They make custom made toys based on children's drawings. Is that not just the greatest idea you've ever heard?!

2. Aled Lewis' Toy Stories are simply genius, and were also the inspiration for the latest Sparkapolooza brief. Seriously, I spent ages scrolling through these and now have the urge to go and buy a whole lot of plastic figurines...

3. I would very much like this Lazy Oaf Dog Shirt...also lots of dogs.

4. Who doesn't love old book smell? Via Girly Me

5. One of the best things about this week, Regina Spektor's new album is streaming over on the frankie website! Until tomorrow! Hurry over there, quick!

6. And last, but certainly not least, I heard this song this morning and it was a brilliant way to start my day - That's What's Up - Edward Sharp and the Magnectic Zeroes.

Animal Stories - Sparkalpolooza

Some super silly pictures/felting I did as a submission for the latest Sparkapolooza brief, Animal Story. I love Sparkapolooza, and this is the first brief in quite a while, so it's great to see they're back. If you're not familiar, definitely check them out and participate in the creative inspiration!
I'm not sure if these have/will make it onto the Sparkapolooza blog, but I thought I'd share them here anyway, and tomorrow I'll post more about the process, particularly the wet felted pieces I did for these. Happy Monday y'all!
